Common use of Religious Observance Days Clause in Contracts

Religious Observance Days. 1. Employees whose religious affiliation requires observance of mandatory holy days on scheduled work days will be allowed to utilize up to a maximum of two (2) days annual leave per year for that purpose; provided that prior to utilizing Annual Leave for the purposes of religious observance, the employee, in writing to his/her area supervisor, identifies the mandatory holy day(s) being observed and attests that the employee’s religious affiliation requires observance of the day(s) in such a manner that he/she cannot perform his/her assigned duties on that day.
