Renegotiation of Salary Schedules. If during a period of the re-negotiation of salary schedules an employee is appointed to a position within the scope of this agreement, and their rate of pay prior to the appointment is higher than the placement, or outside of the salary schedules, following the conclusion of collective bargaining, the employee shall be placed within the salary range of the appointed position in keeping with negotiated rates. However they would only be entitled to a retroactive adjustment for any earnings which otherwise fall within the revised range.
