REPORTING OF FOREIGN TAXES. (March 2006) APPLICABILITY: This provision is applicable to all USAID agreements that obligate or subobligate FY 2003 or later funds except for agreements funded with Operating Expense, Pub. L. 480 funds, or trust funds, or agreements where there will be no commodity transactions in a foreign country over the amount of $500.
REPORTING OF FOREIGN TAXES. 20.1. The U.S. Agency for International Development is the sponsor for this grant and requires specific reporting on foreign taxes paid for commodities with U.S. foreign assistance funds. The Grant Recipient agrees to request permission from the MEDRC Project manager before the purchase of any commodity valued at USD$500 or more. Because of the foreign tax reporting requirement, it is preferred that the Grant Recipient use in-kind cost share funds rather than U.S. foreign assistance funds for any taxable purchase over USD$500 or more.
REPORTING OF FOREIGN TAXES. Quarterly financial reports or other requests for reimbursement in accordance with the payment terms of this Agreement should include the amount of any value added tax (VAT) and custom duties paid to the foreign government of the country receiving assistance hereunder on commodity purchase transactions valued at $500 or more financed under this Agreement as well as any reimbursements of such taxes that may be received during the period of this Agreement. “Commodity” means any material, article, supply, goods or equipment.
