Request for Catastrophic Leave. a. An employee who is himself/herself affected by a catastrophe as defined in subsection 1, may request, in writing, that a specified number of hours of leave be transferred from the catastrophic leave account to his/her account. The maximum number of hours that may be transferred to an employee pursuant to this section is two hundred forty (240) per catastrophe. Catastrophic leave may not be used when the subject of the catastrophe is a member of the employee’s immediate family. Catastrophic leave is limited to catastrophes, which befall the employee.
