Civic Leave. Civic leave is provided to faculty members who are a) subpoenaed to appear before any court or other legally constituted body authorized to compel the attendance of witnesses, where the employee is not a party to the action; or b) summoned for jury duty by any court of competent jurisdiction. Faculty members required to report or serve for only part of a day for court or jury duty are obligated to return for the remainder of that day unless otherwise authorized by the Chair. Faculty members are required to provide written notification of civic leave to the Chair as far in advance of the leave as possible. Documentation regarding the leave (e.g., a copy of the summons, subpoena) shall be attached to the notification. The faculty member may retain any money received as compensation or expense reimbursement for jury duty or court attendance compelled by the summons or subpoena.
Civic Leave. Section 1 - Election Board Employees may be granted leave for public services on Election Boards with compensation for the difference between payment for election Board duty and the regular salary, provided the school salary is greater.
Civic Leave. Employees subpoenaed to serve as jurors or witnesses in any court shall be granted leave of absence for such purpose, such leave being granted without loss of any part of any of the privileges enjoyed by the employees. Such subpoenaed employees shall present a satisfactory certificate showing the period of such jury service or witness and the amount of compensation received for that purpose. If the employee deposits with the University the full amount of compensation received for jury service or witness service and presents an official receipt therefore, the University shall authorize payment of full salary for the period granted as leave of absence on account of such jury or witness service. If the employee refuses to pay to the University such funds, the individual shall forfeit the right to claim any part of the person's salary for the aforementioned period of absence.
Civic Leave. Subject to the provisions of paragraph 7.01, the Employer will continue to pay full salary and benefits for employees who have been called for jury or crown witness duty for up to one (1) month, and will not deduct any payments which may be received by the employee for carrying out such duties. Employees shall advise their immediate supervisor, in advance, of such civic requirement.
Civic Leave. A certified teacher may be excused, at the discretion of the superintendent, to discharge civic responsibilities in which the teacher has achieved leadership. A maximum of two (2) days shall be granted to any teacher for this purpose in any year, nor shall the total number of days in any year exceed ten (10) for the combined staff.
Civic Leave. Employees who have an appointment or appointments totaling one hundred and twenty (120) hours or more in an academic session and upon written request to the Chair/Director of the department in which they are employed, supported by a copy of the summons, shall be granted Civic Leave. The Employer will continue to pay full salary for employees who have been called for jury or crown witness duty for up to one (1) month, and will not deduct any payments which may be received by the employee for carrying out such duties, provided that such appearances and/or services conflict with the employee’s regularly scheduled duties, and that upon return to work the employee provides their supervisor with written confirmation of the date(s) and time(s) on which they appeared and/or served, signed by an appropriate official of the court.
Civic Leave. The District may provide up to two (2) days per year per employee in addition to sick leave for staff service as a member of a civic organization, for attendance at conventions, or for vital business, upon the written application of the employee and the approval of the Superintendent.

Civic Leave. Employees required to appear before a court or other public body on any matter not related to their work in which they are not personally involved (as a plaintiff or defendant) and employees elected or appointed to any political or legislative position who request a leave of absence to perform their civic duty shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for the period to fulfill their civic responsibilities.
Civic Leave. 23.04 An employee shall be entitled to up to fifteen (15) days civic leave without pay, not to be deducted from any leave credits, each year to serve as members of community councils, public boards and committees and to actively participate in sporting events at the Regional, Territorial, Interprovincial, National and International levels (this includes the Arctic Winter Games), and Search and Rescue activities.
