Required Informal Discussion. Prior to filing a formal grievance, a grievant shall attempt to resolve the dispute by presenting the grievance orally to the immediate supervisor and discuss the grievance issue and proposed resolution with him/her. 10.2.3 Step 1: If the grievance is not settled in the informal discussion, the grievance shall be set forth on the appropriate form in writing and filed with the employee’s immediate supervisor.
