Regularly and Additionally Scheduled Holidays. The District agrees to grant bargaining unit employees the following holidays: New Year's Day Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Day Xxxxxxx's Day Washington's Day Xxxxx Xxxxxx Day Memorial Day Juneteenth Independence Day Labor Day Admissions Day Veterans' Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Since employees covered herein are required to work on the holidays approved by the District and are not allowed to take the holiday off, or take another scheduled work day off in lieu of taking the holiday off, each employee shall receive additional compensation in lieu of the approved holidays listed above. The additional compensation in lieu of each holiday shall be equal to eight (8) hours at the employee’s regular rate of pay if the employee works a 8/40 schedule; ten (10) hours at the employee's regular rate of pay if the employee works a 10/40 schedule; or 12 (12) hours at the employee’s regular rate of pay if the employee works a 3/12 schedule. The additional compensation in lieu of all twelve (12) holidays shall be paid in the month in which the holiday occurs. In recognition of unit members suffering a loss of holidays compared with other classified employees, unit members shall receive 40 hours to be used as floating holidays in not less than half shift increments. The use of any floating holiday requires prior approval of a supervisor and shall not be taken during the College’s Winter recess. These floating holidays shall be paid off at the end of each fiscal year if not used.

  • Scheduled Holidays Holidays for certain employees, typically 24/7 facilities, are pre-scheduled on days other than the holidays mentioned in Section 1. This schedule is determined in advance. If employees who have their holiday pre-scheduled are required to work on that pre-scheduled holiday day, they are compensated as follows:

  • Premium Holidays If the employer receives a premium holiday(s), the employees shall not be required to pay their portion of the premium(s) for the holiday month(s).

  • Additional Holidays Every day declared by the President, or the Governor of this State, as a public fast, mourning, thanksgiving, or holiday, or any day declared by the Governing Board under Education Code Section 45203 shall be a paid holiday for all employees in the bargaining unit.

  • Payment for Unused Sick Leave a. An employee with less than ten (10) years of continuous University service, as defined herein, who separates from the University shall not be paid for any unused sick leave. For employees appointed on or before 1/7/03 University service includes continuous employment by the University or the State of Florida.

  • Compensation for Holidays Falling on Scheduled Days Off 1. When a holiday falls on a full-time employee's regularly scheduled day off, the employee shall receive eight (8) hours of compensatory time.

  • Coverage for Members Who Are Hospitalized on Their Effective Date If you are in the hospital on your effective date of coverage, healthcare services related to such hospitalization are covered as long as: (a) you notify us of your hospitalization within forty-eight (48) hours of the effective date, or as soon as is reasonably possible; and (b) covered healthcare services are received in accordance with the terms, conditions, exclusions and limitations of this agreement. As always, benefits paid in such situations are subject to the Coordination of Benefits provisions.

  • Pay for Holidays Worked (a) When an employee is required to work on a designated holiday, the employee shall be paid compensation, or given compensatory time off, for such work at the rate of time and one-half the employee’s regular rate of pay, in addition to regular pay received for all hours worked for the holiday.

  • Compensation for Holidays Worked a. With the exception of the provisions in Section C.2.b., below, an employee required to work on a holiday listed above shall be paid at the employee's regular straight-time rate of pay for the hours actually worked. In addition, an eligible employee shall receive either compensatory time off or holiday pay at the option of the University at the regular straight-time rate, including any shift differential.

  • Payment for Holidays (a) Regular Employees Regular employees shall not have their pay reduced by virtue of holidays specified in Article 16.01.

  • Compensation for Holidays Falling Within Vacation Schedule If a paid holiday falls on or is observed during an employee's vacation period, he/she shall be allowed an additional vacation day with pay at a time mutually agreed upon by the Employer and employee.
