Resources/Assistance. a) The University supports the prevention of substance abuse by its employees, and encourages employees with alcohol and other drug dependency problems to obtain assistance. b) Leaves of absence to obtain treatment may be obtained under the medical leave provision of the appropriate collective bargaining agreement or other University procedures. c) Employees with drug dependency problems are encouraged to contact the Employee Assistance Program. d) An employee who voluntarily admits to a use/abuse problem and seeks assistance through the EAP will be exempt from the discipline process as a first time offender, but will be subject to random testing as specified by the EAP professional for one year after successful completion of a rehabilitation program. A positive test result or continued abuse subsequent to said program will be cause for termination.
