Common use of Resumption of Duties Clause in Contracts

Resumption of Duties. An employee, upon ability to resume the duties of a position within the class to which he or she was assigned, may do so by notifying the site administrative officer in writing for forwarding to the District Human Resources Office two (2) weeks prior to the planned return to work, providing that the attending physician verifies that the employee is fully able to assume all the duties of the position. The District may pay and appoint a non-attending physician to examine the employee if the District believes there is just cause. Time lost shall not be considered a break in service.
