Retention of Position. The Employer shall hold the position for any employee who has been placed on sick leave bank for a period of not less than forty-two (42) calendar days. If an employee remains on the sick leave bank for more than forty-two (42) calendar days, the employee shall provide the employer with at least four weeks notice of the employee’s anticipated date of return. Upon receiving said notice, the employer shall identify an available vacancy, in State service, the employer is authorized to fill in which to transfer the employee. Said transfer shall be to an equivalent position with equivalent pay in state service if he/she returns to work within twenty-four (24) weeks of his/her initial placement on the sick leave bank pursuant to C.G.S.
