Common use of Retirement Notification Clause in Contracts

Retirement Notification. Employees considering retiring from City 7 employment are required to file a written “notice of intent” to retire, ninety (90) 8 days in advance of the employee’s anticipated retirement date. A formal, written 9 commitment to retire, including a specific retirement date, must be provided not 10 less than thirty (30) days in advance of the employee’s retirement date. Such 11 written notice shall be filed with the Director of Public Safety/Police Chief and 12 Human Resources. Any and all-time limits may be waived or altered upon the 13 approval of the City Manager, Union President, and another person selected by 14 the City Manager and Union President, provided extenuating circumstances or 15 life-changing events occur.
