Retraining, Transfer or Early Retirement. (a) Wherever practical, an employee whose job is eliminated by technological change shall be eligible: (1) for retraining to equip their to operate such new equipment, as outlined in Clause 23.3(b). Should such retraining fail, Clauses 23.3(a)(2) or (3) will apply; (2) to transfer into a vacancy created by bumping, in the same or lower classification, provided that they presently have the necessary qualifications, merit and ability to do the job and have greater seniority than the incumbent.
