  • Informal Discussion If an employee has a problem relating to a work situation, the employee is encouraged to request a meeting with his or her immediate supervisor to discuss the problem in an effort to clarify the issue and to work cooperatively towards settlement.

  • Formal Discussion (i) If a difference arises between one (1) or more employees and the Employer regarding the interpretation, application, operation or alleged contravention of this Collective Agreement, the employee(s) shall first seek to settle the difference through discussion with their immediate supervisor. If it is not resolved in this manner, it may become a grievance and be advanced to Step 1.

  • Exceptions to Informal Negotiations and Arbitration The Parties agree that the following Disputes are not subject to the above provisions concerning informal negotiations and binding arbitration: (a) any Disputes seeking to enforce or protect, or concerning the validity of, any of the intellectual property rights of a Party; (b) any Dispute related to, or arising from, allegations of theft, piracy, invasion of privacy, or unauthorized use; and (c) any claim for injunctive relief. If this provision is found to be illegal or unenforceable, then neither Party will elect to arbitrate any Dispute falling within that portion of this provision found to be illegal or unenforceable and such Dispute shall be decided by a court of competent jurisdiction within the courts listed for jurisdiction above, and the Parties agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of that court.   • Mutual Discussions The Employer and the Union acknowledge the mutual benefits to be derived from dialogue between the parties and are prepared to discuss matters of common interest.

  • - ISSUE IDENTIFICATION AND INFORMAL DISCUSSION The employee shall discuss the issue with the immediate supervisor on an informal basis to identify and attempt resolution of the employee’s issue within 10 business days following the day the issue arose. The employee shall have the affirmative responsibility to inform the supervisor that the issue is being raised pursuant to this grievance procedure. The immediate supervisor shall meet with the employee, secure clarification of the issue, consider the employee’s proposed solution, and discuss possible alternative solutions and/or other administrative remedies. The immediate supervisor shall inform the department’s personnel office, and the personnel director shall inform the Association of the grievance. The immediate supervisor shall respond verbally within 10 business days following the meeting with the employee. Failure of the supervisor to respond within the time limit shall entitle the employee to process the issue to the next step.

  • Discussion Staff has reviewed the proposal relative to all relevant policies and advise that it is reasonably consistent with the intent of the MPS. Attachment B provides an evaluation of the proposed development agreement in relation to the relevant MPS policies.

  • Informal Negotiations To expedite resolution and control the cost of any dispute, controversy, or claim related to these Terms of Use (each a "Dispute" and collectively, the “Disputes”) brought by either you or us (individually, a “Party” and collectively, the “Parties”), the Parties agree to first attempt to negotiate any Dispute (except those Disputes expressly provided below) informally for at least thirty (30) days before initiating arbitration.
