Right to Refuse Unsafe Work. An employee may refuse to perform work she considers to be unsafe. Such employee must immediately report the unsafe condition to her supervisor. The supervisor shall call in two members (one of whom will be a CUPE member) of the campus Health and Safety Committee to review and decide on the safety of the situation and any corrections required. The employee shall not lose pay, benefits or seniority, or be faced with any disciplinary action for refusing to perform duties which are considered to be unsafe or hazardous until corrected or reviewed.
