Safe and Sanitary Working Conditions. 17.1. The District is committed to maintaining schools and other work locations in a safe and sanitary condition. All unit members, in the course of performing their duties, shall be alert to unsafe practices or conditions and report any such unsafe practices, equipment, or conditions to their immediate supervisor. 17.2. During periods of extremely hot weather, classroom unit members may, with approval from the principal/supervisor, relocate their classes from assigned rooms to shaded areas outside of the building or relocate their classes from portable buildings and other identified hot areas to a more comfortable room or facility on campus.
