The Company shall make every effort to furnish and maintain safe working gear and equipment for the protection of its employees and shall continue to make reasonable provisions and rules for their safety. When a vessel is canalling, berthing or letting go, the Company agrees to use a Signalman in addition to the Winchman. The only exception to this is when mooring winches are side controlled.
