CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT. (a) Employees required by the Employer to wear uniforms will be supplied with an adequate number of uniforms appropriate to the occupation free of cost to Employees. Such items are to remain the property of the Employer and be laundered and maintained by such Employer free of cost to the Employee.
(b) Instead of the provision of such uniforms, the Employer may, by agreement with the Employee, pay such Employee a uniform allowance at the rate set out in Item 1 of Table 5. This rate is expressed as per shift or part thereof, or as a weekly rate – an Employee is to be paid whichever is the lesser amount.
(c) Where an Employee’s uniforms are not laundered by or at the expense of the Employer, the Employee will be paid a laundry allowance. For Aged Care, Health Professionals and Home Care Employees this will be paid at the rate set out in Item 2 of Table 5. This allowance is also expressed as a payment per shift of part thereof of as a weekly payment – an Employee is to be paid whichever is the lesser amount. For Nursing Employees this will be paid at the rate set out in Item 3 of Table 5.
(d) The uniform allowance, but not the laundry allowance, will be paid during all absences on paid leave, except absences on long service leave and absence on personal/carer’s leave beyond 21 days. Where, prior to the taking of leave, an Employee was paid a uniform allowance other than at the weekly rate, the rate to be paid during absence on leave will be the average of the allowance paid during the four weeks immediately preceding the taking of leave.
(e) Where an Employer requires an Employee to wear rubber gloves, special clothing or where safety equipment is required for the work performed by an Employee, the Employer must reimburse the Employee for the cost of purchasing such special clothing or safety equipment, except where such clothing or equipment is provided by the Employer.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT. Uniform and all equipment will be the subject of continuing study by the Clothing and Equipment Committee. Where the Board or the Service intends to purchase new items of uniform issue or protective equipment for Uniform or Civilian members, or provide existing items of uniform issue or protective equipment to members who have not previously received it, the proposed purchase or issuance shall be discussed at the Clothing and Equipment Committee prior to the proposed purchase. Where the Board, acting upon the recommendation of the Chief of Police, intends to approve a clothing or equipment purchase which is different from the recommendation of the Clothing and Equipment Committee, then the Association shall be provided with an opportunity to send written submissions to the Board prior to the Board meeting where the Board approves the clothing and equipment purchase. The Association must provide any written submissions it intends to make to the Board within three days of being advised by the Board.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT. Section 17.1 All sworn members of the Cincinnati Fire Department shall receive from the City, without cost, their first official uniforms and equipment, including but not limited to recruit uniforms, dress uniforms, four (4) sets of fatigue uniforms, articles of PPE, one (1) reflective rain coat and one (1) fatigue jacket with liner. Upon leaving the Cincinnati Fire Department, personal official equipment, except as provided below, shall be returned to the Cincinnati Fire Department. Members leaving the Fire Department due to disability or length of service retirement shall be given a retiree ID card, their badge and helmet at no cost to them. Those assigned a service weapon at that time shall have the option to purchase said weapon for one dollar ($1.00).
Section 17.2 Any and all items of apparel or equipment that are required for any sworn member of the Cincinnati Fire Department in the performance of duty shall be provided, free of charge, by the City. A standing joint Management and Union Uniform Committee shall be
Section 17.3 Members working on the tour system, and others approved by the Fire Chief, shall be permitted to wear approved t-shirts or polo shirts as an optional uniform shirt. District Chiefs shall be permitted to wear polo shirts anytime during their shift or T-Shirts anytime during their shift or T-shirts after 1700 hours.
Section 17.4 If the City discontinues the quartermaster system, the City shall provide to sworn members of the Cincinnati Fire Department clothing allowance installment payments of
Section 17.5 All members shall be in the quartermaster system. The Chief shall choose between Class A, Class B, fatigues or civilian clothing for all 40-hour members. When the Fire Chief determines it is necessary for the employee to wear civilian clothing at least one day during the six-month periods designated below, the employee will receive a clothing allowance of $300.00 for the applicable period(s) on or before April 1 and October 1.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT. Any and all items of apparel or equipment which are required of any sworn member of the Cincinnati Police Department in the performance of his or her duty shall be provided, free of charge, by the City, except socks, underwear, foundation garments, trouser belts, shoes and gloves.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT. Section 1. The City shall provide and replace uniforms for employees where uniforms are currently required. However, this Section does not constitute a uniform allowance; rather uniforms are furnished by the City.
Section 2. The City shall provide required equipment for employees. The City shall provide a method by which employees can obtain footwear for those employees covered by this agreement who are members of the classifications contained in Appendix C to this agreement. Replacement footwear will be at the discretion of the Department Head or his designee after reviewing the condition of the employee=s footwear including cases in which an employee=s boots are damaged on the job either in a single event or over time such that the boots are rendered ineffective for work or no longer provide adequate protection to the employee, the City shall replace such boots up to the value of $175.00. An allowance of $175.00 shall apply for this section for each employee who is affected. When required by their respective Department Director, employees who have received such boots or allowance shall wear Asafety boots/shoes@ that are in accordance with 29 C.F.R. 1910.136 and the City Personal Protective Equipment Policy. Not wearing required safety boots/shoes may be the basis for disciplinary action. Only shoes appropriate for an employee=s employment may be worn. The City shall contract with a vendor to provide a reasonable variety of safety boots/shoes. Employees may choose any safety boots/shoes sold by that vendor stated above. The employee may purchase boots/shoes which are greater than those required and may pay the difference between the cost and the $175.00 allowance.
Section 3. Regular replacement articles shall be provided as necessary for wear or damage of issued uniforms and equipment occurring while in the performance of duties. Replacement of safety boots/shoes shall be in the same manner as in Section 2.
Section 4. While employed, the City uniforms and equipment issued to employees are the responsibility of the employee. Upon separation from City service, all uniforms and equipment belonging to the City shall be returned to the City prior to the final paycheck being issued by the City.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT. The Board shall supply each uniform member with such clothing and equipment as are deemed necessary for the performance of duty.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT.
23.01 a) Where required by the Employer, or safety regulations; special clothing and equipment will be supplied to employees and will remain the property of the Employer. In general, this Clause will apply to the provisions of protective clothing, CSA approved rubber boots, hard hats, work mitts or gloves, rain protection and equipment with the exception of mechanics’ tools. Employees will be provided with rubber boots as required by the Employer.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT. The parties agree that uniform and equipment items must be returned to the Employer upon the cessation of Employment no later than the last day of employment or as otherwise specified by the Employer.

Where such Employee’s uniforms are not laundered by or at the expense of the Employer, the Employee will be paid a laundry allowance of $0.32 per shift or part thereof on duty or $1.49 per week, whichever is the lesser amount.
(c) The uniform allowance, but not the laundry allowance, will be paid during all absences on paid leave, except absences on long service leave and absence on personal/carer's leave beyond 21 days. Where, prior to the taking of leave, an Employee was paid a uniform allowance other than at the weekly rate, the rate to be paid during absence on leave will be the average of the allowance paid during the four weeks immediately preceding the taking of leave.
(d) Where an Employer requires an Employee to wear rubber gloves, special clothing or where safety equipment is required for the work performed by an Employee, the Employer must reimburse the Employee for the cost of purchasing such special clothing or safety equipment, except where such clothing or equipment is provided by the Employer.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT. Section 1. Police Captains shall receive uniforms and other equipment pursuant to the Quartermaster system in effect at the date of the execution of this Agreement.
