Bullet Proof Vests. All bargaining unit members will be provided with a bullet proof vest, as may be required, at the cost of the City. A member’s bullet proof vest will be replaced by the City every five (5) years or at the appropriate recommendation of the manufacturer.

Bullet Proof Vests. The City shall provide to all employees a bulletproof vest with a minimum standard of Threat Level 3A with trauma plate. Vest shall be provided to all new employees prior to the end of their first week as officers. One free fitting per year will be provided by the City. The City will check and replace liners as needed.
Bullet Proof Vests. A bullet proof vest shall be provided to an individual who is employed as a Deputy Sheriff. Replacement of said vests shall be made in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Employees who are provided bullet proof vests may be required to wear such vests as directed by the Sheriff/designee.

Police Deputies required by the Sheriff to wear a bullet-proof vest for the major portion of any calendar year shall be credited with eight (8) hours vacation time per year, effective the first paycheck in December of that year.

Bullet Proof Vests. At the member’s request, any member may purchase their own bulletproof vest, at a level no less than what the city provides. After the member purchases their vest they shall be reimbursed, with a receipt, by the City equivalent to the amount normally paid by the City for issued vests. However, in order to receive reimbursement, the member must provide the City with the manufactures name, vest’s serial number, threat level, and the manufactures replacement schedule.

Bullet Proof Vests. The Employer will furnish a bullet proof vest to all patrol officers who request one. An employee who is provided a bullet proof vest shall wear the vest at all times while on duty. Employees who currently have their own bullet proof vest will not be issued a new vest until their current vest becomes unserviceable. Replacement of bullet proof vests will be done in accordance with Section 29.3.
