Common use of SAFETY, SANITATION AND SHELTER Clause in Contracts

SAFETY, SANITATION AND SHELTER. 16.01 On all jobs where more than five (5) employees are continuously employed on jobs of one (1) week’s duration or more, there shall be shelter, heated when necessary, provided for those employees in which they may eat their lunches and store their clothing. The Employer shall arrange such facilities with the General Contractor prior to the commencement of work. 16.02 Sanitary toilets shall be provided in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. 16.03 The Employer shall make safety hats available to employees. Employees must wear these at all times while on the job site working. 16.04 The Employer shall provide employees with such protective and wet weather clothing as may be reasonably required. The Union recognizes the right of the Employer to economically supervise the distribution of the clothing provided, and will co-operate with the Employer to prevent wasteful practices. 16.05 In co-operation with the Employer’s overall program of Accident Control and Prevention, the Job Xxxxxxx may report to the Xxxxxxx for corrective action of any unsafe acts or violations of safety regulations. In the event the Xxxxxxx is not available to rectify any violations, the Xxxxxxx will prevent any employee from working in any unsafe areas.
