Schedule Placement and Benefits. A teacher returning from approved extended leave without pay shall be placed on the step and lane of the salary schedule the teacher was on prior to taking leave unless the teacher had completed more than one-half of the school year. In this case, the teacher shall be placed on the next step and appropriate lane of the salary schedule unless returning during the same contract year. Upon the teacher’s return, all unused accumulated sick leave and any other benefits which accumulated to the teacher’s credit shall be restored.
