Schedules and Placement on Schedules. (a) Faculty Placement: Minimum qualifications of Masters Degree or appropriate journeyman certification and at least eight (8) years' journeyman experience, or equivalent of either, shall have a base placement of Step 1 (one). Minimum qualifications of Doctorate or appropriate journeyman certification and at least fifteen (15) years journeyman experience, or equivalent of either, shall have a base placement of Step Three (3).
(b) Vocational teaching experience evaluated by the Employer as more than satisfactory shall be considered as equivalent journeyman experience under these provisions.
(c) Sessional Instructors who are appointed to Type B Faculty positions will have the number of sections taught at UFV taken into account when placement on scale is determined, in addition to experience taken into account under Article 22.7 (Recognition of Previous Comparable Experience).
(d) Initial placement on the Salary Scale is not grievable. The Employer may, with the consent of the employee, change the initial placement of the employee.
