Common use of Scheduling 12 Hour Shifts Clause in Contracts

Scheduling 12 Hour Shifts. The following regulations shall govern the scheduling of work for Registered Practical Nurses working a compressed work week: i) the Hospital shall schedule each full-time Registered Practical Nurse every second (2nd) weekend off; ii) Under normal circumstances, Registered Practical Nurses on extended tours, will not be scheduled to work more than three (3) consecutive days and shall not be scheduled to work more than four (4) consecutive days. iii) The Hospital will endeavour to provide that a Registered Practical Nurse who normally rotates shall be scheduled to work at least fifty percent (50%) of her work tours on day shift averaged over a six (6) week period. iv) all other scheduling regulations which apply to Registered Practical Nurses working the regular daily tour as provided in of the Collective Agreement
