Overtime Scheduling. Overtime for Facility Security Officers and Control Room Technicians will be emailed via county email by Tuesday morning (i.e. beginning the next Monday) for each shift by a shift supervisor. Email responses must be received within twenty-four (24) hours of the posting email and must include the number of overtime hours worked by the member the previous calendar month (i.e. all January sign-ups will look back to the number of overtime hours worked in December). Overtime will be awarded to the member with the fewest number of overtime hours in the prior month. If more than one member has the same number of hours, the overtime will be awarded according to the order of the email response. Except in extenuating circumstances, the list of volunteers for overtime shall be used until exhausted regardless of if the overtime is prescheduled or non-prescheduled. Thereafter, the Employer may offer overtime to any qualified bargaining unit member. The awarding of overtime in accordance with the provisions of this section based on the number of hours worked as specified by a member in an email response shall not be subject to discipline or grievable, regardless of whether the number provided by the member was accurate. Should the Employer make a determination that a member misrepresented the number of overtime hours worked; the member shall be unable to sign up for overtime for a period of sixty (60) calendar days. Neither the determination of misrepresentation nor the determination of inability to sign up for overtime is grievable. Employees must send their own email. Should the overtime be canceled, no bumping rights will exist based on seniority. Mandatory overtime resulting from a lack of volunteers shall be filled through reverse seniority. Once the employee works a mandatory overtime assignment, they will move to the bottom of the list and not be required to work mandatory overtime until the list is exhausted. Inability to work a pre- scheduled overtime assignment due to illness or death in the family will not require the employee be charged such absence against sick leave. In no event shall any employee be mandated to work overtime on a shift which is different from their regular shift, except that an employee may be mandated to work up to four (4) hours before the start of their regular shift or four (4) hours after the end of their regular shift.
Overtime Scheduling. (A) It is the intent of the City, consistent with efficient and effective operation of the Division of Police, to distribute in an equitable manner, all pre-scheduled overtime among all members. Recognition will be given to the qualifications of the members and the requirements placed on the City by any third party funding sources. Any complaints by members that pre-scheduled overtime is not being equitably distributed among all qualified members as described above may be brought by the Lodge directly to the Chief's attention at Step 3 of the Grievance Procedure and shall also be a proper subject for discussion in a Labor Relations Committee meeting. Inability to work a prescheduled overtime assignment due to illness or death in the family or injury will not require the member to charge such absence against sick leave or injury leave.
(B) Any member who works a variable hour assignment shall have at least an eight (8) hour period of non-duty time between tours of duty. If a member is ordered to report and does report in less than an eight (8) hour period, the member will receive a minimum of four (4) hours of call-in pay at the appropriate rate of pay.
Overtime Scheduling. Where practicable, a department shall establish a system to request and utilize volunteers to perform overtime work from among Xxxx 00 employees who are qualified and available within the appropriate work area. If insufficient employees volunteer for the overtime opportunities, the State will decide who shall perform the overtime work. Where sufficient Unit 10 employees volunteer for overtime opportunities, the overtime will be distributed fairly among employees insofar as circumstances permit. CAPS recognizes that work in progress may be completed by the employee performing the work at the time the determination was made that overtime was necessary.
Overtime Scheduling. In situations (other than emergency conditions) which result in overtime assignments of off-shift personnel, every attempt shall be made to equalize such overtime work requirements among all employees. Overtime hours worked during an emergency will be included when equalizing overtime. Off-shift overtime assignments will not be counted toward the accrual of 212 hours in the twenty-eight day work cycle. Off-shift overtime hours performed will either be paid as premium overtime or earned as compensating time as agreed to by both parties.
Overtime Scheduling. Employees shall not be required to take time off in lieu of overtime pay. To meet the above-scheduled hours, Sunday hours may be reduced. Work hours on Saturdays and Sundays shall not be increased by reason of anything contained in this Agreement.
Overtime Scheduling. The Employer will attempt to distribute overtime equitably among qualified employees within any job classification concerned within any one facility. After equitably rotating any qualified employees who have volunteered for overtime, the Employer will equitably rotate any remaining overtime among qualified employees in reverse seniority order, beginning with the least senior qualified regular or short-hour employee in the job classification concerned within the facility. Nothing in this Section shall be construed to require the scheduling of overtime when another employee's scheduled hours can be extended or part-time employees may be called in without payment of overtime.
