Common use of Selection of Department Chairperson Clause in Contracts

Selection of Department Chairperson. 1. Prior to March 1 during the last year of a Chairperson’s term, the Xxxx will solicit from the Department’s Bargaining Unit Members, names of individuals to be considered for the chairperson position. Individuals may self-nominate or be nominated by others within the department. Only tenured or continuing contract faculty members who meet the academic requirements of relevant accrediting bodies are eligible for the chairperson position. The Xxxx will compile a list of those nominated and meet with Department Faculty to arrive at a mutually agreeable slate of candidates who meet the eligibility requirements.
