SHIFT DEFINITION. Except for exceptions noted in Article 13, Section B5, the first shift is any shift that regularly starts on or after 5:00 a.m. but before 12:00 noon. The second shift is any shift that regularly starts on or after 12:00 noon but before 6:00 p.m. The third shift is any shift that regularly starts on or after 6:00 p.m. but before 5:00 a.m. The above definition is for shift premium consideration.

SHIFT DEFINITION a. It is understood by the parties that the establishment of shifts and shift starting/ending times are clearly a management right as defined in Articles 2 and 13. For the purpose of shift differential pay the following shifts are defined: • First shift is a shift commencing work between approximately 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM. • Second shift is a shift commencing work between approximately 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. • Third Shift is a shift commencing work between approximately 9:00 PM – Midnight • Fourth Shift (also known as overlap shift) is a shift commencing work between approximately 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
SHIFT DEFINITION. A work day commences with the beginning of a shift and normally extends for 24 hours. An exception to this is when an employee's shift changes in that 24 hour work day period. An example would be when an employee has been working the 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. shift and a shift change is made to 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Eight (8) hours has elapsed from the end of the original shift and the new 24 hour work day period will begin at 11:00 p.m., that evening. No overtime would be paid for that second eight (8) hour shift even though the new shift is during the original 24 hour day, except where such shift change results in more than forty

NIGHT SHIFT - is a shift regularly commencing between 10:30 P.M. and 1:00 A.M. Each shift including possible overtime will be considered as work on the day on which the shift could have commenced and shall be paid consistent with standards herein outlined.
SHIFT DEFINITION. Day will be defined as where majority of hours fall between 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Evenings begin as early as 2:00pm and end as late as 11:00pm. Nights begin as early as 10:00pm and end as late as 7:00am. For the purpose of a call-in the call will first be offered to permanent part time employees. In the event that there is no permanent part time employee available it shall then be offered to the casual part time employees. These call-ins will be based on a rotational call-in procedure.
