Common use of SHIFT DEFINITION Clause in Contracts

SHIFT DEFINITION. a. It is understood by the parties that the establishment of shifts and shift starting/ending times are clearly a management right as defined in Articles 2 and 13. For the purpose of shift differential pay the following shifts are defined: • First shift is a shift commencing work between approximately 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM. • Second shift is a shift commencing work between approximately 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. • Third Shift is a shift commencing work between approximately 9:00 PM – Midnight • Fourth Shift (also known as overlap shift) is a shift commencing work between approximately 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
