Common use of Shift Differentials Clause in Contracts

Shift Differentials. A. Full-time Unit 6 employees whose regularly workday is on the second or third shift as hereinafter defined will receive a shift differential of one dollar and twenty-five cents ($1.25) per hour. B. For the purpose of this Section only, a second shift shall be one that commences at 1:00 p.m. or after and ends not later than 2:00 a.m. and a third shift shall be one that commences at 9:00 p.m. or after and ends not later than 9:00 a.m. C. The overtime rate for employees whose regularly scheduled workday is on the second or third shift shall be computed based on the following method: the regular hourly salary rate plus the hourly shift differential times one and one-half equals the overtime rate. D. For the purposes of this Section, employees who are regularly scheduled to work second or third shift shall receive the shift differential for all shifts that are on paid leave status, including holidays.
