Common use of Shift replacement Clause in Contracts

Shift replacement. A nurse may have a pre-scheduled shift off by finding a 23 qualified replacement to work providing that {1} the nurse manager receives and acknow- 24 ledges written notification not less than twelve (12) hours prior to the shift to be worked; 25 and {2} no overtime or premium pay results from the schedule change, with the following 26 exception: resource staff may not be utilized for such replacement without the nurse 27 manager’s consent. This provision is intended for those occasional times when a nurse 28 has been unable to plan and request time off prior to the posting of schedules. Once 29 approval has been granted it will not be rescinded.
