Sick Leave Use. Sick leave will be charged in one-tenth (1/10th) of an hour increments and may be used for the following reasons: A. Personal illness, injury or disability of the employee or for preventative health care, including medical or dental appointments and for reasons allowed under RCW 49.46.210 which include, an absence resulting from an employee’s mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition; to accommodate the employee’s need for medical diagnosis, care, or treatment of a mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition; or an employee’s need for preventative medical care. B. To provide care for family members as required by the Family Care Act, WAC 296-130 and as allowed under RCW 49.46.210 which include, allowing the employee to provide care for a family member with a mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition; care of a family member who needs medical diagnosis, care, or treatment of a mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition; or care for a family member who needs preventative medical care. Family member is defined to include: 1. Child, including biological, adopted, or ▇▇▇▇▇▇ child, stepchild, or for whom the employee stands in loco parentis, is a legal guardian or is de facto parent, regardless of age or dependency status; 2. Biological, adoptive, de facto, or ▇▇▇▇▇▇ parent, stepparent, or legal guardian of an employee or the employee’s spouse or registered domestic partner, or a person who stood in loco parentis when the employee was a minor child; 3.
