Common use of Solid Waste Facilities Clause in Contracts

Solid Waste Facilities. 4.4.1 The building shall include designated space for five stream commercial waste containers (1. Garbage, 2. Blue Bag Recyclables, 3. Paper, 4. Corrugated Cardboard, and 5. Organics) to accommodate source separation program in accordance with By-law S-600 as amended from time to time. This designated space for five (5) waste containers shall be shown on the building plans and approved by the Development Officer and Building Inspector in consultation with HRM Solid Waste Resources. 4.4.2 Refuse containers and waste compactors shall be confined to the loading areas of each building, and shall be screened from public view where necessary by means of opaque fencing or masonry walls with suitable landscaping. 4.4.3 All refuse and recycling materials shall be contained within a building, or within suitable containers which are fully screened from view from any street or sidewalk.
