SPECIAL SERVICES CASELOAD. The following staffing ratios will be used in schools as a means for staffing teachers in Special Education: A. Special Services Caseload: Pre-School 18:1 K-5 Resource 25:1 K-12 Behavior 10:1 6-12 Resource 27:1 K-12 Lifeskills 10:1 HS Transitions 16:1 OT 50:1 PT 40:1 SLP 50:1 Psychologist 900:1 Special Education teachers will design case load lists at the beginning of each year with support from building administrators. Attention will be given to equitably distribute students with significant needs and more time demanding IEPs. Special attention will be given to students with IEPs requiring excessive coordination with outside providers. Caseloads for Special Education Teachers, Counselors, SLPs, OTs, PTs, and School Psychologists will be monitored quarterly. If a concern arises, then the District Workload Committee will attempt to ensure equity in workload distribution. If the case load is over the guideline, the following conditions will apply: 1. In a circumstance where an overload exists, the impacted staff member, the principal, a REA representative, and a district designee will convene within 5 day to seek an acceptable solution. 2. Any solution reached during this meeting will be reduced to writing, all parties to the agreement will sign it, and copies will be given to all participants, including REA. In the event that a mixed caseload is necessary, then an adjusted caseload mix will be used. For example: X% of the Resources 1:27 caseload + X% of Life Skills 1:10 caseload = 100% Mixed Caseload. 1.
