Leave to Attend Meetings/Conferences. The district may grant leave, subject to the recommendation of the superintendent and approval by the board, to staff for the purpose of attending meetings or conferences that are likely to be of value to the staff member’s performance. X. Xxxxxxxx to RCW 41.04.665, a district employee is eligible to receive donated leave if: 1. The staff member suffers from, or has a relative or household member suffering from, an extraordinary or severe illness, injury, impairment or physical or mental condition or who has been called to service in the uniformed services or who is a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking which has caused, or is likely to cause, the staff member to: a. Go on leave-without-pay status; b. Terminate his/her employment; 2. The staff member has depleted or will shortly deplete, his/her personal and sick leave reserves. 3. The superintendent will determine the amount of leave, if any, which a staff member may receive under this policy. However, a staff member will not receive more leave than the number of contracted days remaining in the current school year. In the event that the condition requiring the employee’s absence continues beyond the current school year, the employee will not receive a total of more than 522 days of donated leave during total district employment. B. District employees may donate leave as follows: 1. An employee who has an accrued sick leave balance of more than twenty-two (22) days may request that the superintendent transfer a specified amount of sick leave to another person authorized to receive such leave. A staff member may not request a transfer that would result in an accrued sick leave balance of fewer than twenty-two (22) days. Sick leave as defined in RCW 28A.400.300 means leaves for illness, injury and emergencies; 2. The number of leave days transferred will not exceed the amount authorized by the donating staff member; 3. Any leave donated by a staff member which remains unused will be returned to the donor. To the extent administratively feasible, leave transferred by more than one staff member will be returned on pro-rata basis. C. Leave will be calculated on an hour donated and hour received basis.
Leave to Attend Meetings/Conferences. A. Meetings, conferences, symposiums and seminars at which concerns vital to the profession are subject of discussions are recognized by the District as an inherent part of the employee's professional obligation. If building budget allows, principals will make every effort to give equal opportunity for staff to attend one (1) professional conference each school year. Buildings shall use the District Decision-Making Process. (See Appendix C) B. Such leaves may be granted by request to the Superintendent, and when required, by the Board. a) FULL PAYMENT LEAVE. Substitute and necessary expenses paid by the District. This category applies to employees authorized by the Board to represent the District at professional conferences, meetings, symposiums and seminars.

  • Conference Telephone Meetings Directors or members of any committee of the Board may participate in a meeting of the Board or such committee by means of conference telephone or similar communications equipment by means of which all persons participating in the meeting can hear each other, and such participation in a meeting shall constitute presence in person at such meeting.

  • Management meetings 31.1 Either the Engineer or the Contractor may require the other to attend a management meeting. The business of a management meeting shall be to review the plans for remaining work and to deal with matters raised in accordance with the early warning procedure. 31.2 The Engineer shall record the business of management meetings and is to provide copies of his record to those attending the meeting and to the Employer. The responsibility of the parties for actions to be taken is to be decided by the Engineer either at the management meeting or after the management meeting and stated in writing to all who attended the meeting.

  • Notice of Board Meetings Notice of Board meetings shall be given by the Chair or the Chair’s designee to each other Board Member by overnight courier service, email or other electronic transmission, or personal delivery. Notices shall be deemed to have been given: if given by courier service, when deposited with a courier service for overnight delivery with charges therefor prepaid or duly provided for; if given email or other electronic transmission, at the time of sending; and if given by personal delivery, at the time of delivery. Notices given by personal delivery may be in writing or oral. Written notices shall be sent to a Board Member at the postal address, email address or address for other electronic transmission, designated by him or her for that purpose or, if none has been so designated, at his or her last known residence or business address, email address or address for other electronic transmission. Except to the extent required by applicable law, no notice of any meeting of the Board need state the purposes of the meeting.

  • Mandatory Meetings All residential students are required to attend the following building meetings. Time & locations will be communicated by the RAs through individual contact, emails and/or signs in the buildings. A $25 fee will be charged to any students who do not attend without an approved absence.   • ATTENDANCE AT MANDATORY MEETINGS/SCHOOL EVENTS Where an employee is required through clear direction by the board to attend work outside of regular working hours, the provisions of the local collective agreement regarding hours of work and compensation, including any relevant overtime/lieu time provisions, shall apply.   • Joint Meetings 10.1(a) Should either party desire to discuss with the other any matter affecting generally the relationship of the parties, a meeting of Union and management representatives shall be arranged upon request of either party. Such meeting shall take place at a time mutually convenient to both parties.   • Required Meetings or Hearings Whenever any employee is required to appear before the Superintendent or his designee, Board or any committee, member, representative or agent thereof concerning any matter which could adversely affect the continuation of that employee in his office, position, or employment or the salary of any increments pertaining thereto, then he shall be given prior written notice of the reasons for such meetings or interview and shall be entitled to have a representative of the Association present to advise him and represent him during such meetings or interview.

Participation in a meeting by these means shall constitute presence in person at the meeting.
