Common use of SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS Clause in Contracts

SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS. a) The contractor shall keep at the work site a current copy of the drawings and specifications and shall at all times give the contracting officer access thereto. Anything mentioned in the specifications and not shown on the drawings, or shown on the drawings and not mentioned in the specifications, shall be of like effect as if shown or mentioned in both. In case of difference between drawings and specifications, the specifications shall govern. Figures marked on drawings shall in general be followed in preference to scale measurements. Large scale drawings shall, in general, govern small scale drawings. The contractor shall compare all drawings and verify before laying out the work and will be responsible for any errors which might have been avoided thereby. Further, the contractor shall check all drawings, figures and specifications immediately upon their receipt. In any case of discrepancy in the figures, drawings or specifications, the matter shall be promptly submitted to the contracting officer, who shall promptly make a determination in writing. Any adjustment by contractor without such a determination shall be at the contractor’s risk and expense. The contracting officer shall furnish from time to time such detail drawings and other information as the contracting officer may consider necessary, unless otherwise provided.
