Staffing Provisions. Any person who occupies the position of an employee on parental leave must be informed that the employee has the right to return to his/her former position. Additionally, since an employee has the right to vary the period of their parental leave, offers of temporary employment should be in writing, stating clearly the temporary nature of the contract of employment. The duration of employment should be also set down clearly; to a fixed date or until the employee elects to return to duty, whichever occurs first.
