Common use of Stand-by Time Clause in Contracts

Stand-by Time. A. Stand-by time shall be defined as that time spent on duty by an employee as a result of being called back to duty in the Fire Station as a result of the Department's being shorthanded which contemplates a full tour or any part thereof. Fire Fighters shall not be ordered to "stay home on call" for a period of longer than two (2) hours. Such employees, who are not called for emergency service, may continue in their regular routine.
