Standby and Call In. (a) Should an employee be called back to work, she shall be guaranteed a minimum of four hours at the rate of time and one half (1-1/2) for all hours worked in addition to any applicable premium allowances.
(b) If an employee is required to be on standby duty, she shall be paid $18.00 (eighteen dollars) per shift scheduled. When the employee’s response to telephone calls from the Home does not necessitate travel, she/he shall be paid one and one-half times the regular hourly rate for a minimum of thirty (30) minutes or for the duration of the call (whichever is the more advantageous). The employee shall keep a log of all calls and submit it to the Director of Care or designate. The employee cannot receive pay for other calls received during the same thirty (30) minute period. However, if the employee must return to the Home, she/he shall be paid in accordance with 16.08 (b).
(d) The Employer will notify the Bargaining Unit President or designate prior to initiating regular, scheduled, on-going standby assignments in the bargaining unit.
(e) Scheduled standby assignments will be made available to employees on a voluntary basis prior to the assignment of standby shifts by the Employer.
(f) Standby shifts assigned by the Employer shall be assigned in reverse order of seniority, first amongst part-time and casual employees and then amongst full-time employees.
(g) Standby will not be scheduled on a night before a scheduled day shift unless otherwise agreed to by the employee.
(h) Employees scheduled for standby shall be provided with beepers or cell phone.
(i) Standby assignments shall be posted at the same time as the tours of duty schedules. Employees shall be permitted to exchange their standby assignments.
(a) If an employee is required by the Employer to work a weekend in violation of the weekends off scheduling obligations of the collective agreement (if any), she will receive premium payment of time and one-half (1½) for all hours worked on that weekend. Time worked on that weekend will not be considered when determining future such premium obligations.

Standby and Call In. (a) If an employee is required to be on standby duty, she shall be paid $18.00 (eighteen dollars) per shift scheduled. Should such employee be called in to work, she shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half for all hours worked and standby shall cease to be paid.
(b) Where a Nurse is called in to work with less than two hours notice prior to the commencement of the shift and arrives within one (1) hour of the commencement of the shift or is called in to work after the commencement of the shift, she shall receive full payment for the tour, provided she works a minimum of four (4) hours.
