Standby Pay. 19.01 When an Employee is designated to be immediately available to return to work during a period in which they are not on regular duty, the Employee shall be paid the amount of one-half (½) hours’ pay at their regular rate for each four (4) hours on standby or major portion thereof on a day that is not a paid holiday. For standby on a paid holiday, the payment shall be one (1) hours’ pay at the regular rate for each four (4) hours on standby or major portion thereof.
Standby Pay. Standby pay shall be at the rate of four ($4.00) dollars per hour. An additional two dollars ($2) per hour will be paid for all hours of standby assigned by the Employer beyond seventy-five (75) hours in a pay period. Standby pay shall be paid for actual hours on standby prior to reporting for duty. Standby pay shall not be paid when the nurse is receiving the four (4) hour minimum callback guarantee, even though the nurse has returned to standby status.
Standby Pay. 26.01 (a) Where the Employer requires an employee to be available on standby during the off-duty hours, an employee shall be entitled to a standby pay equal to one hour for each eight (8) consecutive hours, or portion thereof, that he/she is on standby, except on his/her day of rest and designated paid holiday. For any period of standby on a day of rest or designated paid holiday, the employee shall be entitled to standby pay equal to three hours.
Standby Pay. Employees who, as part of the duties of their positions, are assigned in writing by the Chief of the Department or designee, to standby service while off duty to be instantly available shall have a paging device or cell phone made available to use during the period of standby service. Such employees shall be paid an amount equivalent to two (2) hours of their regular rate of pay for each assignment on a regularly scheduled work day, and three (3) hours of their regular rate of pay for each assignment on a regularly scheduled day off.
Standby Pay. When a regular full-time employee is required and assigned to be available for immediate emergency call-back at times that the employee is not otherwise on duty, the employee shall be compensated for such standby hours at two (2) hours straight time pay or equivalent time off for each eight (8) hours of assigned standby time.
Standby Pay. 134. a. Employees (except those working at the Public Utilities Commission) who, as part of the duties of their positions are required by the Appointing Officer to standby when normally off duty to be instantly available on call for immediate emergency service for the performance of their regular duties, shall be paid twenty-five (25) percent of their regular straight time rate of pay for the period of such standby service, except that employees shall be paid ten (10) percent of their regular straight time rate of pay for the period of such standby service when outfitted by their department with an electronic communication device or cell phone. When such employees are called to perform their regular duties in emergencies during the period of such standby service, they shall be paid while engaged in such emergency service the usual rate of pay for such service as provided herein. However, standby pay shall not be allowed in classes whose duties are primarily administrative in nature.
Standby Pay. 41.1 Where the Council requires an employee to be available on either primary or backup standby during off-duty hours, that employee shall be entitled to a standby payment of one-half (1/2) hour’s pay, at the straight time rate, for each 4 hours or portion thereof of standby.
Standby Pay. Standby duty shall mean any period of not more than eight (8) hours during which time an employee is not on regular duty but has been assigned standby duty and must be available to respond to any request to return to duty. This shall include, but not be limited to, those employees scheduled to be on call the manager or supervisor and assigned to carry a pager, cellular phone, or laptop computer as a result of the standby duty assignment. Employees who are assigned to standby shall be credited with one (1) hour to their averaging total for each period of assigned standby. Eg: For each eight hour period, or portion thereof, on standby: 1 hour credited to their averaging total.
Standby Pay. Employees of the Office of Information Technology may be assigned to standby status by the University during off-hours and on designated weekends. Standby status will involve the following:

An Employee shall be deemed to be on standby duty when assigned by the head of the department or other superior to remain at home or at any other designated place for a specific period for the purpose of responding to calls for immediate service after the Employee's normal hours of work, on the Employee's scheduled day off or on holidays. For each calendar day or portion thereof of standby duty, the Employee shall be paid an additional amount equal to twenty-five percent (25%) of the Employee's daily rate.
