Standby Pay Sample Clauses

Standby Pay. Standby pay shall be at the rate of four ($4.00) dollars per hour. An additional two dollars ($2) per hour will be paid for all hours of standby assigned by the Employer beyond seventy-five (75) hours in a pay period. Standby pay shall be paid for actual hours on standby prior to reporting for duty. Standby pay shall not be paid when the nurse is receiving the four (4) hour minimum callback guarantee, even though the nurse has returned to standby status.
Standby Pay a. Employees (except those working at the Public Utilities Commission) who, as part of the duties of their positions are required by the Appointing Officer to standby when normally off duty to be instantly available on call for immediate emergency service for the performance of their regular duties, shall be paid twenty-five (25) percent of their regular straight time rate of pay for the period of such standby service, except that employees shall be paid ten (10) percent of their regular straight time rate of pay for the period of such standby service when outfitted by their department with an electronic communication device or cell phone. When such employees are called to perform their regular duties in emergencies during the period of such standby service, they shall be paid while engaged in such emergency service the usual rate of pay for such service as provided herein. However, standby pay shall not be allowed in classes whose duties are primarily administrative in nature. b. STANDBY PAY FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION ONLY 193. Employees of the Public Utilities Commission (“PUC”) who, as part of the duties of their positions are required by the Appointing Officer to standby when normally off duty to be instantly available on call for immediate emergency service to perform their regular duties, shall be paid twenty (20%) percent of their regular straight time rate of pay for the period of such standby service. When such employees are called to perform their regular duties in emergencies during the period of such standby service, they shall be paid while engaged in such emergency service at the usual rate of pay for such service as provided herein. However, standby pay shall not be allowed in classes whose duties which are primarily administrative in nature.
Standby PayStandby duty shall mean any period of not more than eight (8) hours during which time an employee is not on regular duty but has been assigned standby duty and must be available to respond to any request to return to duty. This shall include, but not be limited to, those employees scheduled to be on call by their manager or supervisor and assigned to carry a pager, cellular phone, or laptop computer as a result of the standby duty assignment. Employees who are assigned to standby shall be credited with one (1) hour to their averaging total for each period of assigned standby. Eg: For each eight hour period, or portion thereof, on standby: 1 hour credited to their averaging total.
Standby PayEmployees who, as part of the duties of their positions, are assigned in writing by the Chief of the Department or designee, to standby service while off duty to be instantly available shall have a paging device or cell phone made available to use during the period of standby service. Such employees shall be paid an amount equivalent to two (2) hours of their regular rate of pay for each assignment on a regularly scheduled work day, and three (3) hours of their regular rate of pay for each assignment on a regularly scheduled day off.
Standby Pay. Employees scheduled for standby shall be paid three (3) hours of regular pay for each twenty-four (24) hours of standby.
Standby Pay. When a regular full-time employee is required and assigned to be available for immediate emergency call-back at times that the employee is not otherwise on duty, the employee shall be compensated for such standby hours at two (2) hours straight time pay or equivalent time off for each eight (8) hours of assigned standby time.
Standby Pay. (Applies to SB1, SC1, and SD1 only) When a department head or designee assigns a unit member to standby, the unit member shall be paid an amount equivalent to one and seventy-five hundredths (1.75) hours straight time pay for each eight (8) hour period of standby assignment. In selecting unit members for standby pay, the department head or designee shall determine which unit members are qualified for the standby assignment. Every six (6) months, qualified unit members performing the work during regular work hours shall be provided the opportunity to be placed on the standby rotation list for the next six (6) months. Standby will be offered to unit members on the standby rotation list in the order of seniority. The most senior unit member, based on initial hire date into the most recent Civil Service classification, will be placed at the top of the standby rotation list. In the event employees have the same Civil Service hire date into the most recent classification, those employees will then be placed on the standby list based on their initial Civil Service hire date with the City. If a unit member on the standby rotation list refuses a standby rotation, the rotation will be offered to the next senior unit member on the standby rotation list. If all unit members on the standby rotation list refuse the standby rotation, the least senior and qualified unit member must accept the standby. During all hours when assigned to standby duty, a unit member shall (a) keep the supervisor informed of the City issued mobile number at which the unit member can be reached, and (b) be available to report within a reasonable time in the event of a call-out. A unit member assigned standby duty who fails to comply with these two conditions shall not be paid standby pay during any such period of time. If there are alphabetical standby rotation lists in use at the time of the effective date of this Agreement, when they expire, all such lists shall operate on the basis of seniority as defined in this section.
Standby Pay. Employees of the Office of Information Technology may be assigned to standby status by the University during off-hours and on designated weekends. Standby status will involve the following: 19.13.1 Employees will receive a minimum of seventy-two (72) hours notice of their assignment to standby status. Standby periods will be rotated among qualified, eligible staff within the business unit on an equitable basis. Absent exceptional circumstances, employees will not be required to serve in standby status more than seven (7) calendar days per month. 19.13.2 While on standby status, employees will be provided with a University cell phone, required to remain available for work-related calls and, if necessary, return to work. 19.13.3 Standby status will not be considered hours worked, and will not run concurrently with work time. While on standby status, employees will be paid a rate of three dollars ($3) per hour.
Standby Pay. 41.1 Where the Council requires an employee to be available on either primary or backup standby during off-duty hours, that employee shall be entitled to a standby payment of one-half (1/2) hour’s pay, at the straight time rate, for each 4 hours or portion thereof of standby. 41.2 An employee designated for standby duty shall be available during his period of standby at a known telephone number and be able to return for duty as quickly as possible. 41.3 No standby payment shall be made if an employee is unable to report for duty when required. 41.4 An employee on standby who is called in to work and who reports for work shall be compensated in accordance with the Call-Back provisions of this Agreement.
Standby Pay. A department head, with the approval of the County Administrator, may designate employees in certain classes to be in a standby status. An employee who is on standby status must be at a location where the employee can be reached at all times and upon being called shall return to work immediately. An employee who is recalled to work shall be deemed to be off standby status and the employee shall not receive standby pay for the hours the employee is paid to work, whether on a straight time or overtime basis. Employees who perform standby duty shall be compensated at 20% of their regular hourly rate.
