Step Placement upon Reemployment. Laid off employees shall be credited for all time served in the position and step from which they were laid off for the purposes of step placement and advancement to higher steps on the salary schedule, if applicable, upon reemployment.

Step Placement upon Reemployment. Laid off employees who are subsequently reemployed within 39 months shall be credited for all time served prior to layoff in the position and step from which they were laid off for the purposes of step placement and should be credited with one additional step on the salary schedule, if applicable upon reemployment.
