Common use of Step Two (2) Clause in Contracts

Step Two (2). If a satisfactory solution is not accomplished by informal discussion, the employee shall have the right to consult with and be assisted by a representative of his or her own choice in this and all succeeding steps of subsection 26.C. (Departmental Review and Adjustment of Grievance) and may thereafter file a grievance in writing with his or her immediate supervisor within seven (7) working days of the date of such informal discussion. Within seven (7) working days after receipt of any written grievance, the immediate supervisor shall return a copy of the written grievance to the employee with his or her answer thereto in writing. If the grievance is not resolved at this level, the employee shall have seven (7) working days after receipt of the answer within which to file an appeal with the commanding officer.
