Common use of Step Two – Appeal of Written Grievance Clause in Contracts

Step Two – Appeal of Written Grievance. If no mutually agreeable settlement is reached in step one, the employee may submit a copy of the written grievance to the next level supervisor of the department within five (5) working days after receiving the answer in step one, requesting that the supervisor’s decision be reviewed by the next level supervisor. The next level supervisor shall investigate the case, request all pertinent facts, meet with the employee (within 5 days) and communicate the decision in writing to the parties concerned within twenty (20) working days after receiving the written appeal, to try and resolve the grievance.
