Students/Interns. Student and Internship programs may be created by the employer provided such does not take work away from budgeted classifications represented by the Union, the Union is provided notice and, upon request by the Union, the Employer meets with the Union to discuss the impacts and benefits of the program.

Students/Interns. Students/interns in the process of obtaining a minimum of a master’s degree in human services from an accredited program may offer direct patient services only under active and ongoing clinical supervision. There must be a designated clinical supervisor and a clinical supervision plan that outlines the clinical objectives of the internship/field placement. All clinical documentation for students/interns must be co-signed by the designated supervisor (see “Clinical Supervision” section below).
Students/Interns. A student is an employee occupying a student position while enrolled in an education program. Students shall not be used to fill bargaining unit vacancies or new bargaining unit positions, however, a student may be required to perform HSW or PSW related duties as a requirement of their education program. Students are not considered part of the bargaining unit. Upon completion of their education program, should a student be successful in obtaining a PSW or HSW position with the organization, the employee will become a member of the union and pay dues accordingly. Employees enrolled as students prior to becoming members of the bargaining unit will not accrue seniority on their student hours and their student hours will not be counted as part of their probationary period. Seniority will begin once they become members of the bargaining unit subject to Article 11 - Seniority. In circumstances whereby an employee is concurrently a member of the bargaining unit and a student in an education program, their student-related hours will not be accrued as seniority nor will they be considered towards their probationary period or subject to union dues.
Students/Interns. 46.01 GAFAE and First Air agree to the hiring of students and/or interns into development positions and for specific projects with a limited time span. These may be full time or part time.
