Common use of SUBMISSION OF LEAVE REQUESTS Clause in Contracts

SUBMISSION OF LEAVE REQUESTS. a. All leave requests other than sick leave, personal necessity, bereavement, maternity, industrial accident, or jury leave shall be submitted in writing to the department administrator. The department administrator will forward the leave request with a recommendation to the Human Resources Office within five (5) school days. The recommendation and request will be given to the Superintendent for action. Action on the leave request will be taken by the Superintendent or designee within fifteen (15) working days. b. All requests for leave of one (1) semester or more must be submitted in writing with necessary information to the Department Administrator by March 1st for a leave commencing the following semester, or by October 1st, for a leave commencing the second semester. c. Requests for leaves of less than one (1) semester shall be submitted at least ten (10) work days prior to the effective date of the proposed leave. d. The Superintendent will determine if there is to be a waiver of time limits for the granting of a leave. If a unit member believes cause exists for the waiver of time limits, he/she will state the reasons on the application for leave submitted to the Superintendent.
