Common use of SWOP (Sick Leave Without Pay Clause in Contracts

SWOP (Sick Leave Without Pay. May be granted when an employee is sick or injured but does not have a sick leave balance or other available balances. May also be granted when necessary to qualify for long-term disability insurance or workers compensation benefits. (1) Employee must follow proper reporting procedure and provide requested proof. Failure to do so may result in being recorded as AWOL. (2) SWOP may not exceed one year. A medical evaluation may be required before return to work.
