Common use of Taking of Long Service Leave Clause in Contracts

Taking of Long Service Leave. (a) Long service leave will be taken at a time convenient to the employer but not less than thirty (30) days notice will be given to each employee on the day on which his long service leave commences, except in cases where the employee and the employer agree to a lesser period of notice or in other exceptional circumstances. (b) Long service leave must be commenced within six (6) months of becoming due unless written permission of the employer concerned is obtained for postponement.
