Teacher Base Pay. HB 143 The "teacher base pay" for the district is the pay specified in BA Step 3 and is the lowest salary for a beginning teacher under the terms of this agreement and is set to coincide with the definition of "teacher base pay" in House Bill 143, 2021 Legislative Session, New Section 1(4)(c). Any cell in the matrix with a pay specified that is lower than BA Step 3 is unused for the purpose of establishing the lowest salary for a beginning teacher under the terms of this agreement and remains in the agreement for the sole purpose of indexing stipends and/or pay of teachers whose placement is beyond BA Step 3 and whose pay is higher than the pay specified in BA Step 3.
