Common use of Teachers on Unpaid Leave Clause in Contracts

Teachers on Unpaid Leave. a. Subject to the terms of the individual benefit plans, a continuing or temporary teacher on unpaid leave or layoff shall be entitled to remain on the benefit plans (except BCTF Salary Indemnity Plan) by paying the full premium costs in advance. b. Teachers on unpaid leaves where participation in benefit plans is not automatic will be informed by the Board, upon written approval of the leave, of their right to continue on these plans at their own costs.
