Teaching for the United States Government, Peace Corps, or Other Special Programs. A. A teacher who has been employed in the District for a minimum of five (5) years and has a record of satisfactory service shall be eligible for a leave of absence for a period not to exceed two (2) years to teach in an assignment abroad in schools maintained by the United States, provided said teacher states his or her intent to return to the district for a minimum period of one (1) year.
