Teaching for the United States Government, Peace Corps, or Other Special Programs. a. An employee who has been employed in the Lansing School District for a minimum of three (3) years and has a record of satisfactory service shall be eligible for a leave of absence for a period not to exceed two (2) years to teach in an assignment abroad in schools maintained by the United States, provided said employee states an intent to return to the Lansing School District for a minimum period of one (1) year.
