Temporary Assignment to Higher Classification. 1. Any employee required to perform duties in a higher capacity or rank other than his/her regular duty or rank shall receive wages equivalent to step 1 of the higher duty or rank or that of the rate of pay of one step above his/her own regular duty or rank whichever is greater. Once an employee is placed in an acting position he/she shall be compensated for the entire shift.
