Orientation for New Employees. Orientation for new employees shall be developed by the employer after consultation/discussion with the Union.
Orientation for New Employees. UUWA Representatives will hold orientation sessions for all newly hired employees covered by this Collective Agreement. Designated UUWA Representatives shall be given sixty (60) minutes private time to conduct new member orientations. All such time shall be considered work time and any employee attending orientation shall be kept whole.
Orientation for New Employees. The District agrees to provide new employees, hired into a regular position which is represented in the bargaining unit, with a new employee packet from the Association. The Shop Xxxxxxx and the Association for the unit will be notified of all regular new hires in their unit.
Orientation for New Employees. All newly-hired employees shall be given a job orientation by the Employer, the content and extent of which will be determined by the Employer, taking into consideration the background and experience of the employee. During an employee’s first day in his/her department or unit, and before receiving an initial assignment, the employee shall be oriented to essential department policies and procedures, and equipment operation and location, that is necessary to perform the assigned tasks.
Orientation for New Employees. The Board shall insure that each newly appointed employee receives sufficient information to acquaint him with the operations of the department to which assigned. Employees shall also be advised as to employee benefits and responsibilities and Board of Education policies, and such other appropriate information as they may need or request. This latter requirement shall have been satisfied by the Board supplying each employee with a copy of this Agreement, and providing access to a copy of Board policies at each work location. The Association will be placed on the agenda for the last one-half (1/2) hour of new employee orientation conducted at the beginning of the school year.
Orientation for New Employees. The Employer shall provide to the Union, one half (½ ) hour of paid time, to provide an orientation to the Union for new employees. Time shall be allotted during the orientation of new employees, and the Union officer designated by the Union, shall, by prior arrangement, be afforded the opportunity to meet with new employees, during the working shift, at no loss in pay.
Orientation for New Employees. A staff orientation session for new employees shall be offered by the Employer no later than October 31 each year. The Employer shall acquaint the new employees with the basic operation of the School District. Thirty (30) minutes shall be made available to a representative of the Union. The Union shall acquaint employees with the rights and responsibilities set out in the Collective Agreement. The Employer will provide time for the new employees to attend the staff orientation session at no loss of pay.
Orientation for New Employees. (1) Orientation programs for new Employees, regardless of prior experience shall remain in effect, subject to the Employer's right to modify, during the life of this Agreement. Each program shall be developed by the Employer and shall emphasize health and safety with particular emphasis on local conditions and associated hazards.
(2) Existing orientation programs shall be reviewed by the Employer jointly with appropriate officials of the Union (including the local union health and safety committee) upon the Union's request. Existing programs shall include the elements listed in paragraph (3) of this section. Such review shall be carried out within six (6) months of the Effective Date of this Agreement.
(3) An orientation program for underground mine Employees shall include at least the following elements:
(i) Introduction to mining including a complete tour of underground and surface facilities; instruction and analysis of hazards encountered by inexperienced Employees; instruction in safety laws and regulations and company safety rules applicable to work of inexperienced Employees.
(ii) Description of the line of authority and responsibilities of supervisors and of the authority and responsibilities of the mine health and safety committee.
(iii) Procedures for entering and leaving the mine, including the check-in and check-out system, and procedures regarding the transportation of Employees and materials.
(iv) Escape and emergency evacuation plans.
(v) A review of the mine map with special attention to the escapeway system and the location of abandoned and dangerous areas.
(vi) Instruction in the use, care and maintenance of the applicable self-rescue device.
(vii) Instruction in the use, care and maintenance of personal protective equipment.
(viii) Instruction regarding roof control, ventilation, rock dusting, dust and noise control plans and procedures at the mine.
(ix) Instruction in first-aid fundamentals, including artificial respiration, control of bleeding and treatment for shock.
(x) Instruction in the recognition and avoidance of electrical hazards.
(xi) Instruction regarding use of the mine communication system and the meaning of warning and directional signs.
(xii) Instruction in the prevention of haulage accidents.
(xiii) Instruction in the detection of methane.
(xiv) Instruction regarding general accident prevention.

Orientation for New Employees. 1) The Company and the Union agree that the Union will have the opportunity to meet with newly hired employees as part of the orientation process for the purpose of furnishing them with information about the Union. The Union's segment of this process will be limited to a maximum of sixty (60) minutes. Time spent during the basic scheduled work period for each employee will be paid as time worked.
2) In addition, the Company also agrees to introduce employees transferring into a different work group to the local Union representative assigned to that area.
Orientation for New Employees. The Agency agrees to include one (1) Union xxxxxxx in the orientation procedure for new employees. In particular, the Union xxxxxxx and the employee shall be entitled to a period of up to thirty (30) minutes with pay for private orientation. These meetings will be held within the first fifteen (15) business days of the employee’s start date. The time will be scheduled subject to the approval of the employees’ immediate supervisors, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld given due consideration to the provision of direct service.
