TESTING CABLES AFTER INSTALLATION Clause Samples

TESTING CABLES AFTER INSTALLATION. After the cables have been spliced and racked but prior to the final connection to cutouts or luminaires, each phase conductor and neutral shall be given an insulation resistance test between conductors and conductors and ground. The test shall be performed in the presence of the EIU. The Contractor shall furnish all labor and testing equipment. Each conductor shall indicate a value of not less than fifteen (15) megaohms. If a fault is found to exist, the Contractor shall locate the faulty cable section (from box to box) and furnish and install new cable. If it is definitely established that the fault is due to a splice, the decision to correct the splice or to replace that section of cable shall rest with the EIU.
